While I was sitting at my desk doing homework this afternoon, I started admiring everything displayed on it. Don't get me wrong, it is not a beautiful sight to admire. It's definitely an organized mess, but it's messy with all of my favorite things. I decided instead of doing homework, I would take pictures of my mess and share them with you bloggers. Welcome to my life:
Post-it notes. I absolutely love them. Some people might say I'm addicted to them..and I wouldn't argue. I have collected post-its since my freshman year in high school. I was trying to think of something cool to collect..coins..bottlecaps..quarters..and then the creativity kicked in..post-its! I remember one year for my birthday, all I asked for were post-it notes. Kinda lame..but I'm not ashamed. They are a cute way to stay motivated and organized when things become stressful!
"This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." This frame was given to me by my lovely sister. I could have written anything I wanted on it. I still can erase it and write anything on it, but I stick with this. This is my childhood in a nutshell..or I guess a frame. Every day on the way to take my sister and cousin to Taylor elementary, we would sing this song together. I was probably about 3 years old and my version sounded more like "this is the DAYEE that the Lord has made. I will reJOYceeee and be glad in it!" Everytime I see it, I am reminded of those car rides and it's a refreshing reminder that this is His day..be glad in it.
In a way, this picture kills two birds with one stone. I love cards. And I love Coca-Cola. I keep these cards on my desk whenever I'm in need of a study break. A quick game of one-handed solitaire, and I'm ready to hit the books again. I also just love cokes. When I was younger, I would always go to my Gram's house after school. I would drink a coke, and eat a fun-sized snickers. I love the fact that when I still mix those two, I can taste those afternoons. Weird? Maybe just a little. But aren't all the good memories just a little weird?
Okay, well I had a few more pictures to post..but I don't want to bore anyone. I hope this was a fun way of getting to know me..and of course it's a good explanation for my messy desk. It's funny..every time I try to clean it, it just gets messier. At least it's messy with the things I love.
